K2K KUSD Connections

Kindergarten teachers Lynette Powers (Southport) and Kim Frost (Somers) start their 2005 K2K (Kindergarten to Kindergarten) videoconference series this week!

Approximately once a month- the two classrooms meet via videoconference for shared projects. This month, students will meet their buddy for the "All ABout Me" connection. Students learn quickly how important it is to speak loudly, clearly and slowly for the connection. By the last connection of the year, future Tom Brokaws and Oprah Winfreys are born!

Are you interested in a K2K (Kid-to-Kid) connection for your students? How about a bookclub, geography bowl, current event debate... the possibilities are endless!

Email me and we'll get one started for you!

My friend and I were recently talking about how technology has become so integrated in our day to day lives. Reading this post makes me think back to that discussion we had, and just how inseparable from electronics we have all become.

I don't mean this in a bad way, of course! Societal concerns aside... I just hope that as the price of memory drops, the possibility of transferring our brains onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It's a fantasy that I daydream about every once in a while.
